what is and how the star wars day originated

The Star Wars Day is a celebration day created by Star Wars fans in tribute to the franchise created by George Lucas. Star Wars Day originated from an article published by the British newspaper London Evening News on May 4, 1979, where members of the UK Conservative Party congratulated Margaret Thatcher on becoming the country’s Prime Minister. The article read “May the 4th Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations”. However, it wasn’t until 2011 when it began to gain momentum among fans: the Toronto Underground Cinema organized a film festival on the same day, and businesses took advantage of it to offer special discounts on Star Wars products.

when will the next star wars movie be released?

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released in 2015 and is set 30 years after "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi."

During the 2023 Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm, currently a Disney company, announced how the cinematic universe of Star Wars will continue. Starting in December 2026, three new Star Wars movies will be released, each set in different universes that will expand the stories of the saga that began in the 1970s.

1- STAR WARS: the first JEDI

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker fight against Darth Maul in the Sith Order.

Release date: December 18, 2026

The movie will narrate, in a biblical epic style, the origin of the Jedi in the universe and will be set about 25,000 years before the events depicted in Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Little else is known about this movie, which will be directed by James Mangold.

2- STAR WARS: THE EMBERS OF THE EMPIRE

The Mandoverse will make its screen debut for the first time and will serve to conclude the world presented on the small screen.

Release date: TBA (To Be Announced)

“The Embers of the Empire” is one of the most anticipated projects by Star Wars fans, as it will be the film that closes the “Mandoverse“, which includes “The Mandalorian”, “Ahsoka”, and “The Book of Boba Fett”, among other series. The writer in charge of this movie will be Dave Filoni, who previously directed Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

3- STAR WARS: the new jedi order

Daisy Ridley will be in the spotlight once again when she reprises her role as Rey, the most famous character of the British actress.

Release date: To Be Confirmed

The third announced movie will mark the grand return of Daisy Ridley to the big screen, reprising her role as Rey. The story will take place only 15 years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and will narrate the rebuilding of the new Jedi Order from the young apprentices of our protagonist Rey.

More announcements about the franchise will arrive at the Star Wars Celebration 2025.
